We are delighted to announce that in partnership with NewRiver’s Commercialisation Manager Jackie Tracey, our entry for ‘Mall Transformation in Bexleyheath’, won an award at the Revo Opals on the 18th April. Mall Transformation was introduced as a new category this year, looking at examples of aesthetically enhanced malls, creativity with underutilised space and new activation space – all in the context of commercialisation.
Upon our appointment to manage the commercialisation at the Broadway Shopping Centre in Bexleyheath, our strategy was to replace all RMUs with bespoke kiosks, introduce more F&B, and identify opportunities for new business on the mall with the aim of driving rental growth and improving shopper experience. See what the judges had to say:
“The level of thought and problem solving is most impressive. The commercial team have a strong understanding of the operational parameters and restrictions to which they have worked around very well. This is a great example of a vision and strategy translating into a practical execution.”
The Awards Breakfast was held at the British Museum and hosted by comedian and I’m a Celebrity star Joel Dommett! It was great to see such a wide variety of commercialisation achievements, with fantastic examples of experiential campaigns, brand immersion, inspiring mall retail and creative markets and events.
We were pleased to represent a community style shopping centre amongst the regional shopping centres such as Intu, Westfield, Hammerson and British Land, and receive recognition for our hard work alongside Jackie in delivering a successful commercialisation strategy with a strong set of results.
